Welcome to Cabaret On Main,
It is with great pride and satisfaction that we are finally here to unveil a new addition to the New Haven County Arts community and to share the story of our journey to get here.
When we founded our multi-award-winning New Haven Academy of Performing Arts in 2013, we knew we were on our way to building a powerful training institute for artists of all ages. Even then we began to dream of doing more.
We hoped we would eventually have a real theater company, a venue at which our students, colleagues, fellow artists and artisans from all over the state could come to practice all manner of theater arts.
Today we are here to tell you – drumroll please – that the Cabaret on Main is here!!
Yes, it’s true. Our brand-new, multiuse, state of the art theater is already under construction, and we expect to initiate a season of programs.
Very soon, we will reveal our very exciting fall 2022 lineup.
In the meantime, let us tell you something about the Directors of Cabaret on Main.
Billy DiCrosta is a singer and actor, born and bred in East Haven CT, who fell in love with all kinds of theater at a very early age. After performing in multiple productions all over the State of Connecticut and studying at Western Connecticut State and Hart Conservatory, he migrated to the high seas and found his niche as a headliner on cruise ships around the world. All his life, he has longed to establish a place in his own hometown, where people could come to enjoy, musical theater, concerts, dances, and more.
Neil Fuentes is known nationwide as a popular chef, who was featured on the Food Network, Food Channel, Telemundo, and more. Neil’s dream of producing and directing theatrical shows began when he was a six-year-old music and dance student in his native Venezuela. He came to the USA in 1995 with the dream of some day being a producer and director in the entertainment business, and he made that dream come true. Since 2014, Neil has been acting, directing and producing alongside Billy DiCrosta at the New Haven Academy of Performing Arts as well as at various local theaters and for Vista Life Innovations. Now that Cabaret on Main is about to become a reality, he is ready take his dream to a whole new level.
NHAOPA is successful beyond our highest expectations. Thanks to our partnership with Broadway Dance, to our supportive and helpful community, and to the unflagging dedication of our students, their parents, and our friends and colleagues, we have watched the Academy blossom into a valued local institution. We plan to do the same with our newest space at NHAOPA "Cabaret on Main". And soon, too, we will inaugurate our newest venture, a nonprofit theater company we have dubbed "Broadway on Main".
NHAOPA along with it's theater space "Cabaret on Main" and Broadway on Main will be a vibrant performing arts hub that will showcase the colorful beauty of Connecticut’s diverse population. Ours will be a center for theatre arts that welcomes participation and involvement through programs for and by our multi-varied cultures, our LGBTQIA+ community, and by any and all who want to share their stories and ideas with an ever-growing audience.
So please stay tuned! We can't wait to bring you updates on the progress of our projects. And if you want to be among the first to hear, please take a moment to you join our mailing list right in the space here.
Thank you for visiting Cabaret On Main!
